Garhwali special Bhari Roti (Lentils Stuffed Flat Bread)

I took this recipe from my Mother's Kitchen. This is one of my favourite dishes for Breakfast. Lets start with the ingredients:



1- Lobia Dal (black-eyed pea or black-eyed bean) - 250 Gms
2- Dhaniya (Coriander Leaves)
3- Jeera  (Cummin Seeds)– 25 gms
4- Lahsun (Garlic Cloves) – 9
5- Hari Mirch (Green Chillies) – 5
6- Oil
7- White Butter (Not Necessary)
8- Salt
9- Atta (Wheat Flour)


Steps to Prepare:
  1.  Soak Lobia Dal overnight in Lukewarm water.
  2.  Boil the Lobia Dal in Pressure Cooker or suitable utensil such that the Lobia Dal can be mashed with fingers.
  3. Cut Coriander Leaves in small Pieces.
  4.  Roast Jeera Seeds on Tava for 1 min and grind to form powder.
  5. Cut Garlic Cloves into small pieces.
  6. Cut Green Chillies into small pieces.
  7. Remove excess water from the boiled Lobia Dal.
  8. Mash the Lobia Dal in a wide container.
  9. Add all the ingredients and Salt to taste.
  10.  Mix the paste with hand well.
  11.  Make small balls of wheat flour dough (Wheat flour and water).
  12. Roll out the balls.
  13. Put a tablespoon of paste in the centre of the bread.
  14. And close the bread from all the sides to form a ball.
  15. Roll this in the form of flat bread.
  16. Roast this bread on tawa sprinkling oil on both side of the bread while roasting.
  17. Place the bread on a clean plate once cooked and place a dollop of White Butter on it.
  18. Serve Hot.
